HELLO, I’M CASIA!


 

It all started when … her fingers would curl around my hair at the nape of my neck and I would feel her breath dampening my shoulder as she slept. It was at this moment I felt the most beautiful. I felt needed. I felt connected. I could see myself through her eyes, not as the messy bun, old tee shirt wearing, mother - but as the strong, comfortable, safety of her mom.

As mothers, we wait to be in photos until we feel put together, but the truth is, that is the world's definition of beauty. I want to capture the connections between mother and child only seen when stripped down to the core. When we take away distractions, we are left with authentic emotional relationships. These photos, with you in them, are for us, but more importantly they are for our children. So that they know they have always been wanted. They have always been loved. This is the legacy of Motherhood.

I am Casia Fletcher and I am honored to meet you.

As an Arizona native I have grown up loving my Tucson community and lived my entire life as an artist. As a child I enjoyed creating with textiles and textures of sewing, cooking and plants. I took my first photography class as a freshman in high school, my teacher saw something in me and I’ve been hooked ever since. I started with film, the darkroom and have migrated to digital. When I graduated college with a BFA my husband inspired me to begin my own business and pursue my passion for portraiture. Together with my husband Eric, we have been photographing modern families professionally for over 14 years. My motherhood division was born after the birth of our daughter Nova who is now 7 years old. It goes by incredibly fast and I am thankful we choose to live an intentional life. I adore minimalism, plants and slow-living in our tiny desert bungalow. In my downtime you will find me trying out a healthy new vegetarian recipe or smoothie with my little sous chef, watering 50+ plants (yes I’m also a plant mama) and refreshing our home with vintage and locally made goods.
